Portuguese stopovers

Clermont Auvergne Métropole and the Braga region have long shared a common history through numerous cultural, economic, sport, friendly and family ties. With this very rich context, and approved by the French Institute as part of the France-Portugal Cross Season, the public media libraries of Clermont Auvergne Métropole and Braga, in partnership with the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the University of Clermont Auvergne and the University of Minho, invite adults and children, from March to October, to discover literature, comics, cinema, and contemporary art and music creations from both countries.

Two highlights will mark this season in Clermont-Ferrand: the Petites escales (The little stopovers, from 1 to 15 July) to discover authors and illustrators who sail from one country to another according to the choices of children’s literature publishers, and the Grandes escales (The great stopovers, 7-8 October) where three Portuguese novelists and a French novelist will dialogue for two days in Clermont- Ferrand. Come and share this new France-Portugal with us! Follow the programme in detail as the months go by. The Portuguese escales begin with the poetry of Pessoa, translators’ jousts (with the Semaine de la poésie), special Portuguese video art sessions (with VIDEOFORMES) and contemporary literature (with Littérature au Centre).
